Jesus – Matthew 7:5

This verse is from the book of Matthew in the New Testament of the Bible. It is part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, where he teaches about various topics including how to treat others.

In this verse, Jesus is warning against being a hypocrite and judging others without first examining oneself. The log in one’s own eye represents a person’s own faults and shortcomings, while the speck in a friend’s eye represents the faults of others. Jesus is saying that before we try to correct others, we should first address our own faults. Only then will we be able to see clearly enough to help others with their faults¹.

This verse teaches us to be humble and self-aware before trying to help others. It reminds us that we all have our own faults and that we should work on improving ourselves before trying to correct others.
