Jesus – John 6:29

In this verse, Jesus is speaking to a group of people who had followed him after he had miraculously fed them with five loaves of bread and two fish. They were seeking more miraculous signs from him, and Jesus responded by telling them that they should not focus solely on physical signs, but instead on the true purpose of his ministry.

Jesus then says that the only work that God requires of them is to believe in him, the one that God has sent. In other words, Jesus is emphasizing the importance of faith in him as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Believing in Jesus is not just an intellectual agreement with his teachings, but a complete trust in him and a surrender of one’s life to him.

This verse highlights the central message of the Christian faith, which is that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not about performing good works or religious rituals to earn God’s favor, but about recognizing Jesus as Lord and Savior and placing one’s trust in him for salvation.
